fairy town
I photographed these magical little toadstools at Hollard Garden with the other autumn colors in my last post. Every time I see a them, I feel the urge to write a children's story about a tiny, little world. Alas, I am not disciplined enough to do it; so I settle for taking some macro shots.

There's not much left of my flower garden now that autumn is on the way, but a couple of livingston daisies are trying to hang on.

Hubby's macros
Hubby doesn't take many photos any more, but sometimes he sees something that just must be photographed. He found these details on a day lily at the Fern House in Pukekura Park in New Plymouth.

unique and strange
This plant, growing in several places in the lawn garden, caught my eye during wet weather when the grass couldn't get cut. I initially thought the 'leaves' looked like hearts as they grow on stalks about a foot (30 cm) high. I've never seen anything like this before but it is definitely unique and strange.

While editing in Photoscape, there are many different things I can do to the colors and hues, but I guess I am a realist when it comes to photos and can't quite bring myself to show you strange and weird edits so I will just stick to color enhancing and monochrome.

sedum in winter
Spring must be close here in the southern hemisphere because flowers are beginning to show their wonderful colors. My sedum has taken over its own flower box and is blooming like crazy!

flowers from hollard gardens
Hollard Gardens in Kaponga is my 'go to' place when I want to take pictures but don't want to go far. It's a public garden, free to enter, that is absolutely huge with a wonderful variety of colors all year round. These are photos from my archives taken at Hollard Gardens. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Cold weather has driven me into my archives. This is a pohutukawa tree--called the New Zealand Christmas tree since it usually blooms about that time of year.
