spring garden

This is how my garden looked a few days ago. It has been raining the last couple
of days, so I'm sure it will look different the next time I get out there!

A stroll through my spring garden

This morning, between rain showers, I snapped these blooms in the garden.

Besides these lovely colors, I have dahlias breaking through the ground, the cherry trees are budding, lots of seeds are sprouting and a few others weren't open because the sun wasn't out.

I love spring!

I hope you're ready

The spring showers have stirred the seeds and bulbs in my part of the world and I'm pretty sure I'll be posting lots of garden shots, so consider yourself warned. :)

short stroll through the park

We went to see the blooms in King Edward park in Stratford and found some beauties.
These were taken on two different days with very different weather.
Considering we had just experienced wintry wind and rain for the last few days,
and considering that spring just started this month, I was pleasantly surprised at
the colors and that they were still on the trees.

colors from the past

I am sooo tired of waiting for spring!  So, here are some colors from earlier in the year from Hollard Gardens.

flowers in winter

We took a ride to Hawera the other day and I was surprised to see so many flowers in bloom. It seems that this very, very  mild winter has affected flowers all over Taranaki.

random favorites

I'm going through the archives again for some colorful shots.

the last of the garden

The weather is turning cold this week and I wanted to get a few more garden shots before the color fades completely. I am not sure how the caterpillars will do--I just have to leave that in God's hands.

my autumn garden

It's the middle of autumn and we are still waiting for cooler weather--don't get me wrong, I am NOT complaining at all! We have had some cool evenings and nights but only had a fire in the fireplace last night for the first time.
The garden thinks it's spring, I think. My camelia has buds, one azalea has two blooms on it, the jasmine keeps blooming now and then, some mini-pokers bloomed a second time. and the rest....well, just look!!

pretty in purple

This lovely color has popped up all over my garden! It must have been hibernating for a while before making its appearance.

Garden colors

These brave blooms are what's left of my summer garden. I can always count on my dahlias for color, even with autumn on our doorstep!
