Finally!

I have some flowers in the garden!
These little daffodils were a surprise.

This is a Lenten rose that was already planted and bloomed all winter.

all the pretty flowers

I hope you don't get tired of the flower garden.  Since I didn't plant it, I am
intrigued by what comes up, especially, after Hubby and I did a lot of pruning and cutting (OK, he did most of the cutting!). My goal is to keep it as close to what I think
the owner wanted it to look like.

This is a bonus find under the weeds.

a walk in the garden

It was almost spring-like weather so I took the camera out to the garden.
I was happily surprised at what I found. Moving into a house with
an established garden is both fun and interesting!

the garden

Since we moved, I have been busy with checking out the garden.  There are hundreds of
rose bushes and an assortment of soooo many other lovely flowers and trees, all in addition to
a small orchard!
The landord has given us free reign over the garden as they have no interest in it.
Oh, the possibilities!!

It's beginning to look like spring

Even though the weather is rainy and chilly, I've noticed lovely pops of
color in the garden! I am convinced that flowers are better predictors of
the weather than we can ever be.

winter garden

These are growing in my garden, even though it's definitely winter.
Some of them will be thrown out in the spring but, for now, they can stay.

I took advantage of the rain that comes with winter here.

Summer memories

I wanted to share this lipstick flower (Aeschynanthus) that was among seedlings that I
bought just to fill in some spaces in my garden.
It did the job very well, blooming for months and is still blooming now.

From the top, it doesn't impress me with the tiny flowers--I like blooms
big enough to photograph in macro.

But, from another angle, they look like miniature orchids!

I was a bit under the weather this week, so I did this
mosaic of my summer flowers.

Last of the summer colors

It's getting to be autumn-y weather here in the southern hemisphere.
These are the last photos of my garden. I think next spring will bring
lots of great, new color.

a few more spring flowers

While I'm waiting for the seeds that I planted to come up, I have a few flowers from earlier seeds and bulbs that have captured my attention (and camera).

Enjoy!

I finally got some freesia blooms from bulbs that I planted two or three years ago. I have no idea why they don't like my garden.

My tulips are hit and miss. Last year, none came up!

So I dug them up last fall to replant in the spring.

I thought I got them all, but a few weeks ago, the ones that I missed started coming up!
I hurried and put the others back in the ground--none of those I put back bloomed at all!

I will leave them to do whatever they want!
