random beauty

Here is some random beauty I found this week.

The lone rose stood out against the green grass.

My re-grown rose has a lovely bud on it.

This hawk was enjoying a rabbit meal when I saw it. Shooting through the old , old windows doesn't help the camera to focus but this one came out ok.

We haven't planted our spring seeds yet, but I did find these guys!

sedum in winter

Spring must be close here in the southern hemisphere because flowers are beginning to show their wonderful colors. My sedum has taken over its own flower box and is blooming like crazy!

gladiolus in autumn

Just one of the confused flowers in my garden this fall! I have lilies and dahlias that think it's spring, too!

jasmine

Hubby bought two jasmine plants for me not long after I got here. They have moved with us and hung in there pretty well but I think they finally found a place they really like.
I finally found the right amount of light and shade for them and they have bloomed so well this summer! They smell great, too!

*edit* For those who asked, the 'right amount' of light is just a few hours of morning sun and complete shade the rest of the day!

tiny white blossoms

I don't know the name of this bush, but it has delicate summer blooms with purple leaves.  Thanks to Hubby and is astounding google talents, this is called 'Copper Sheen'. Thanks, sweetie!
