I found this great flower growing in the thicket beside a river. I don't know what it is, but I thought it was interesting and different. It reminds me of a wild onion. Please let me know if you know what it is.

At this stage I'm not sure if it is like a thistle or an allium. As I recall, alliums grow taller and more flowery - so perhaps more time will tell.

A beautiful photograph! I think it might be a thistle, but you'll need to return and take another picture when it's in full bloom.
Very pretty--I especially like the way the leaves of the plant have wrapped themselves around the flower--almost as if they are framing it.
