Beautiful day for a drive, part 1

We took a ride up the Forgotten World Highway a few days ago. It's exciting for me because it's so beautiful--even if it's mostly uneventful.

We scared a hawk away from a snack.

I love seeing the moss/lichen on the fence at Whangamomona church.

Gigantic art

On our trip north of Auckland a while back, we were quite

surprised to see these bits of art on the tops of hills along the road.

I assume there are more, but these are all that we saw as we drove by.
