raindrop on maple
It's that time of year when there are spurts of rain all day and most of the night. Here's my newest favorite raindrop photo from the japanese maple in the garden.

lake mangamahoe
In 1931 the lake was created by forming a dam across the valley and submerging 79 acres for power generation.
To protect the steep hillside from eroding, planting was undertaken to protect the pine trees growing in what is now the Mangamahoe Forest.
Public entry to the forest was once restricted until 1990.
