the garden

Since we moved, I have been busy with checking out the garden.  There are hundreds of
rose bushes and an assortment of soooo many other lovely flowers and trees, all in addition to
a small orchard!
The landord has given us free reign over the garden as they have no interest in it.
Oh, the possibilities!!

fossils and other things

I find some very interesting things when we are out and about.
I guess volcanic activity explains it.

Thankful

I am thankful that the ocean is not far away.
Scenes like this are so relaxing.
Those are the Sugarloaf Island at New Plymouth. They surround an underwater volcano.

backroad beauty

We went on another backroads trip, this time east of Whanganui.
We found some interesting scenery, including this poor duckie that was in need of some help on the Whanganui River as we passed by.

We passed two of these bridges with low clearance.

More photos to come!

travel scenes

It's winter with lots of rain so we enjoyed some awesome waterfalls on our
backroads drive.

There were lots of little sheepies to see.

Some had escaped the paddock.

We giggled when we saw these lambs with black heads.

But then we saw the reason for their markings!
