Hollard archives

Hollard Gardens is a public garden that I love to visit. It belonged to a farmer who was more interested in plants than farming and he developed it over many years and then donated it to the public. Click here for some history of the garden.

These are from the archives.

Hollard Gardens in the rain

I went to my favorite public garden this week and, even though
it was rainy, there was lots of color waiting for me!

Hollard Gardens

Basket Fungus that grows in NZ.

A native tree called Kowhai (the maori word for 'yellow').

Along an overgrown path, I found some snow from a few days before!

visiting Hollard Gardens

As many of you may know, I love going to Hollard Gardens in Kopanga and we found the flowers looking quite happy over the weekend.

Hollard Gardens

I love going to Hollard Gardens. It was originally a dairy farmer's garden that he developed over the years. Now the Taranaki Regional Council care for the free-of-charge garden. Click here to read some of the history of the lovely place.

Hollard Garden color

These are some lovely flowers from a visit to Hollards last week. I am always amazed to see the different colors and shapes they grow there. The volunteers do a fabulous job!

Hollard Garden

I'm waiting for the wind to die down so I can work in my garden,
so Hubby decided to take me to Hollard Gardens today so
we can have some fresh air and exercise. It's always a treat to see
the lovely colors.  I was also happy to see the  parking lot about half full of
cars--usually we have the whole garden to ourselves.

hollard gardens

We wandered around at Hollard Gardens this week for the first time in ages. It was fun to see the color that is still around with our very warm autumn.
