We saw thousands of migrating pelicans over the weekend. On lake Pepin, part of the Mississippi river.

The only swans I have ever seen were the tundra swans that landed in a reserve for the evening in California with the sandhill cranes. It was pretty spectacular. Your black swans are beautiful.
Lovely black swans. On rare occasions Trumpter Swans visit Powell Lake. They are more common on a small lake in town. - Margy

Cygnus atratus also very nice and we also have some at the lake. Always nice to look at.

The seagulls watch curiously as the black swans parade. I'm sure there are sounds of delight! 😊
Then they have a future, because nothing in this world works without adaptation.
They are a native Australian. And we see them often, but unexpected to see them way up the Murchison River way way inland in Western Australia where you wouldn't expect to see them.
Black Swans are native to Australia but have spread around the world as they have escaped from wildfowl collections and have formed feral populations in many countries.
Aren’t they lovely! We saw some in Lakeland Florida. I can’t remember the whole story, but I know they were gifted to them by someone from your Country. (I’ll have to go read my own blogpost about them, LOL, I knew there was a reason I kept a blog ))). Thanks so much as always for hosting.

I love the dual coloured beak with the white pattern. The orange looks like nature's maircal;e against its blck wings.
Such majestic ones that they put the others on a bit of a backdrop. But the others are lovely too.
