These lovelies are quite adaptable. We have seen them
in lakes and on the ocean.

ReplyDeleteOh black swans, I think it's a family - here in Germany we see swans in black not so often.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Germany

ReplyDeleteThe only swans I have ever seen were the tundra swans that landed in a reserve for the evening in California with the sandhill cranes. It was pretty spectacular. Your black swans are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely black swans. On rare occasions Trumpter Swans visit Powell Lake. They are more common on a small lake in town. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI like them too
ReplyDeleteCygnus atratus also very nice and we also have some at the lake. Always nice to look at.

An excellent photo! ❤️
ReplyDeleteThe seagulls watch curiously as the black swans parade. I'm sure there are sounds of delight! 😊
Then they have a future, because nothing in this world works without adaptation.
ReplyDeleteThey are a native Australian. And we see them often, but unexpected to see them way up the Murchison River way way inland in Western Australia where you wouldn't expect to see them.
ReplyDeleteBlack Swans are native to Australia but have spread around the world as they have escaped from wildfowl collections and have formed feral populations in many countries.
ReplyDeleteAren’t they lovely! We saw some in Lakeland Florida. I can’t remember the whole story, but I know they were gifted to them by someone from your Country. (I’ll have to go read my own blogpost about them, LOL, I knew there was a reason I kept a blog ))). Thanks so much as always for hosting.
ReplyDeleteOops, maybe the gift was from Australia , not NZ. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteAre they swans? The ones I'm familiar with are white.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.
Swans are gorgeous and I really like photography.

ReplyDeleteI succeeded!
Wow! I have never seen them in the Ocean...very cool....:)jp
ReplyDeleteI love the dual coloured beak with the white pattern. The orange looks like nature's maircal;e against its blck wings.
ReplyDeleteSuch majestic ones that they put the others on a bit of a backdrop. But the others are lovely too.
Have a good weekend, dearest Betty.
Relax and unwind. <3
