This is one of many old dairy buildings that dot the landscape of Taranaki. At the turn of the last century, each small, rural area had their own building to process milk and butter. In 1963, they were all combined into one and the old buildings were, mostly, deserted. Some have been used for different businesses and storage over the years but most are just neglected now.

How sad they are no longer in use. This looks like it hasn't been used for awhile.

Looks like home!

Looks very big...but old!
Great old building and I like that their sign is still readable.

Sad to see this place abandoned.
From a photography point of view, I'm really intrigued with these old abandoned buildings!
Such an interesting photo. Too bad progress took its place.
It's sad these old buildings no longer have a use. I like that you included the sign. Thanks for linking up!
Love to listened to the story of the old building in the stillness.
True everywhere I guess. I am fortunate to have one local creamery still in business, where I can fresh local dairy products.
And it looks like a good sized building....too bad it isn't put to use. I enjoyed the bit of history about it.
many things 'local' are returning but i don't think milk and butter will be one of them in this area...a great photo...
It is such a shame that these buildings have just been left to rot and not reused in some way.
what a neat looking place, still!
Very creative shot and love the 'vintage' building ~ great for OWT ~ xoxo

Nice find for Rubbish Tuesday!
Great old building. It is sad that so many buildings just go unused like that. Surely something could be done with them.
Great shot - love that you can still read the sign.
