roadside animals

This is one of the reasons I love New Zealand so much--you never know what you will find along the way. We took an overnight trip and saw these animals along the road. Nothing you will ever see in the USA!

llamas...I have no idea why they were there. They didn't even care that we were close enough to get close up shots.

bulls outside the fence...Apparently, a farmer was moving them down the road but he had stopped to have a chat with someone and they wandered along and found other bulls inside the fence to do whatever it is that bulls do together.

The llams look very inquisitive Betty, and not a sheep to be seen. When we visited the north island last year we got caught behind a big flock of sheep being moved along the road.

What a wonderful post! So many interesting animals in New Zealand! I think my favorite was the Llama's. Especially the beautiful black one. Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting! You sure do live in a lovely area!

I have heard old men say "we were just shooting the bull" meaning they were chatting about nothing in particular. Maybe that's what those animals were doing too ;>)! Happy New Year!~

What a great series - domestics on the run! I guess the grass really is greener on the other side! xo Karen

You have sold me on living in NZ! I have lived by the ocean most of my life until finally ending up in Manhattan - always torn between living in the city and living by the ocean. Love your photographic detail and your eye for the closeup shot!
