I had never seen actual shipwreck remains until today. Hubby took me to Weld Road beach and I was in awe when he casually pointed and told me that those parts sticking out of the beach are what is left of a real ship that sunk here about 100 years ago. Oh my - I've never seen anything like that either.
Very interesting story. Glad no one was hurt! Do you suppose it's so interesting to us because we're from a land-locked state???
Oh my gosh that is so awesome!!!
That is scary, a ship wreck....
Enjoyed visiting your blog and the interesting story behind the ship lost at sea.
Definitely not in Kansas. That's an interesting story and your photo captures the starkness of the coast.
Nice found ! and thank you to share this to us. Interesting story : )

Truth isn't always a pleasure to view. Nice job on Outdoor Wednesday Post. Never saw a ship wreck before in real life either.
I don't think I've ever seen a real shipwreck except in movies! Great story too.
Wow, very cool...what a neat story!
Thanks for sharing!
I haven't seen anything above water but have viewed one from a submarine ride. Great shot. Have a blessed week. Debbie
How fascinating! No smooth sailing for the SS Gairloch. The poor ship sounds like it had quite a history of getting into trouble before it was considered totaled.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
