Greylag Geese - they are everywhere! In answer to Angie's comment - geese like most birds have eyes on either side of their head and see best sideways, so what they are all looking at here is the photographer.
This is such a lovely photo. I just found your blog and it is good to see you are from NZ. I used to live in Wellington and Auckland, I still miss it. I will visit your page again to see some more New Zealand Sites. Have a good weekend.
