Gotta love a place that displays guitar-playing cat. :-) Using trees for windbreaks is the way to go, if possible.
Based on your photos each week, I think God took a little longer and gave a little extra love when creating New Zealand. So lovely!

I've never seen trees planted that closely together that they become a fence - very cool.
