architecture in the south island

I always am impressed with the different styles of architecture I find
as we wander the countryside.

...Betty, what a great collection of architectural treasures. It's hard to choose a favorite. I do like the buildings that tell about the owner and use. Thanks so much for sharing, I hope that your beautiful area has some more treasures.

It's always so interesting to see the buildings and I'm amazed of how they construct such wonderful buildings that are also pieces of art. Especially like the Mercantile and Tea Importer ones.

Very interesting - Italian - Greek - Gothic. I suppose it reflects the European heritage.

Love all these churches! My favorite is in your 4th capture - unusual stone for a Gothic style;) Hope you'll enjoy winter - mine was too long and several times of snow was a cultural shock since I live in California

Wow, what a diversity of styles! #1 and 3 looks like here in Germany, #2 is my absolute favorite.

To your question: on my picture you look at walls of an old house, a part is just demolished, you look in broken rooms.
