tiromoana road

Usually, roads are closed because there is construction.
This road doesn't have any work going on. I can't even begin to guess why it is suppose to be closed.

For a closed road, it sure gets a lot of traffic, as you can tell by the tire tracks. I'm pretty sure all the vehicles down this road aren't just being rebellious like we were :)

It must be a short-cut that we don't know about since we met a few trucks on our 25 minute ride that only has about four farm entrances on it.

I don't think I have ever seen this many pukekos together.

And these wild turkeys barely noticed that we were there.

Great shots of wonderful scenery. It's an essential road to go down for the scenery, I think.

oh, a pretty drive, if not a dangerous one.

a lot of country roads here are dangerous during rains due to wash-out and flooding. i thought maybe you'd run into some of that..

Id be intrigued by that sign, it looks sort of new. You got some great bird shots, especially the turkey close up. And that young cow is delightful.

Maybe it's because it's what might be considered a "primative" road around here. Anyway you found some great fences and critters along the way. I loved the Wild Turkey shot and the one with the cow.

great shot of the Turkeys in the 2nd to last shot but my favourite image is the last one of the cow.

what a beautiful country road. so many great captures. the turkey around here scatter when someone is nearby whether by car or person. it's difficult to photograph them. hope all is well. have a great day~

Oh my goodness - that cow - that's my favorite. Glad you were brave and traveled down the road ;-)

That has to be one of the funniest signs ever! Not sure if someone wants to deter people from driving around.

Good for you for being 'rebellious'!
Maybe they wanted to keep it a secret from touring hordes of photographers?!
