Gold mining in the Otago region started in 1852, but didn't last long. There are, however, many remnants and other sights from the past.
The top right shot below is probably a seal hunter's hut.

Lovely remnants of history, i know NZ is good in preserving those sites for tourists. Just like what they did in Arrowtown, it was an awesome place which i want to live in if i am in NZ.
