foamy waters

Hubby took me for a ride and we ended up
at the seaside. He's so patient as I take waaaay
too many photos!
I don't think I will ever tire of the beauty of the ocean.
The strength behind the waves just amazes me!

My Corner of the World

Hubby left some photos on the camera for me before he left for work this morning and I was tickled to see the foggy sunrise (I don't do mornings!). Thanks, Hubby!

more Long Beach, NZ

These are  more of Hubby's images from Long Beach. We both love finding fossils.

The blue clay below is called papa.

kingfisher and WATW

I have to thank Hubby for this photo because he slowly slid--yes,
slid--out of his chair to get the camera so our movement
wouldn't scare him away!

What is happening in your world this week?

Please feel free to link up below by clicking the blue 'add your link'

wai iti beach

Our first stop was Wai Iti beach.
We had been there before but not when the tide was this low.
I was tickled because I had recently seen a picture there that someone had called petrified tree trunks. After some research, I found nothing else that called the formations that, but I like the idea.

The photos below were taken by Hubby.

Thanks to Jeff at Taken for Granted for the identification of these lovely formations: Stromatolites.

Hubby's photos at Okato Beach

On New Year's Eve, we took a ride to Okato to visit a beach that Hubby heard about.

These images were taken by Hubby, as he is much more able to navigate the rocks
and more willing to get wet.

I love how the water just pops out of the sand to make these designs.

Flowers from Hubby!

Every now and then, Hubby comes home with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for me.
He usually tells me that, 'They were on special.'  [That's how he defends the 20 items he brings home
when he went to the store for one :)]

I'm not sure I always believe that the price was reduced, but I do
appreciate that he thinks about me when I'm not with him!

nobody's home

In his wanderings while working, Hubby found these abandoned houses.

All the gates were tied shut so I took these from the walkway.

Favorite things

One of the few things I love more than gardening is going to the coast
and taking a walk with my camera. Hubby finds the best places!
