I just realized that all this time I seem to have a single idea of what birds like these are called -just "waterfowl." Spoonbill is new to me. Thanks for the new bird vocabulary, and for hosting.

Here we have something in common, and it's probably not the only thing. The spoonbills also lives in Romania, in the Danube Delta. They are rare birds, protected by law.

Aren't they just marvellous? Spoonbills and sawfish, pelicans and puffins, swordfish and echidnas all have schnozzes fit for purpose! ;-)

Love spoonbills! The variety here has bright pink feathers. I've seen them in certain places in Florida, but they're hard to find.

I absolutely love water fowl. Lovely photo. We have an area where I live where tundra swans migrate through every fall. We just saw some last weekend and are going back this weekend with binoculars. thanks for the party.
