artistic baling and panoramas

While we were in the South Island, I noticed the bales of hay laying in the fields. Just about all the farms had them  looking very meticulous in the way they were laid out which is in stark contrast to the bales in Taranaki being stacked along the side of the field.

Hubby asked around and found that it's so damp there that the farmers leave them where they will be used for the animals. The things I learn!

Some of the farms had baled the hay in purple wrapping that reminded me of the pink bales a couple of years back that were in support of breast cancer. The purple bales raise money for Starship Children's Hospital. You can read more here.

Hubby and I both love the 'panorama' setting on the camera. These are some he took.

Wish they would give some color here to the bales of hay! Much more fun than the serious black or white:) Love panoramas! Can see how your hubby gets more involved with your photography:):) It's more fun to do it together, eh? Many thanks for these beautiful shots for ALL SEASONS and have a delightful week!

Awesome photos! I've never seen wrapped bales of hay before. Doing so for a fundraiser is a wonderful thing.

And the panoramas are great.

Those panorama shots are all amazing! I need to try out that setting. I love the photos of the hay bales, too.

Really -- it looks as if someone measured the distance between each bale ... that is meticulous! Beautiful pano shots of this gorgeous farm scenery.

I've seen the light blue and green bales but not the yellow, pink or purple varieties. I wonder if they taste different to the animals. :)

Beautiful shots, Betty! The fields and bales of hay make for a great photographic subject, while the panoramas reminds us of the beauty in New Zealand landscapes.
