Where is he?

As a kid, I was the only one who couldn't see the 'man in the moon'.

I guess I was always logical, even at a young age.

Nowadays, I just like to photograph the moon and the supermoon last

weekend cooperated quite nicely. 'He' must be hiding in a crater :)

underwater drops

We have had a lot of rain this winter (12 months' worth in 8 months, says the weatherman) and I haven't had a lot of chances to walk down our road this spring. So, when the sun came out and I could stretch my legs  this week, I noticed that there was a running stream on one side of the road and a still pond along the other side.  

Looking closer, I was very surprised to see that the clover under the water on the pond side had drops of water  oxygen (Thanks, Yamini!) on the leaves[though, I still like the idea of it being a water drop]. This is definitely something that I've never seen before!

I was reluctant to post these photos because, at first glance, they look badly taken.
But, I wanted to share this bit of bizarre nature with those who would appreciate it :)

these little piggies

We drive by this farm with the world's friendliest pigs occasionally 

and last week they surprised us with cute little babies following them

to the fence. 

This ram wasn't having the pigs getting all the attention.

Hubby had to show me this shed that isn't really there (404 error message).

And, this is my idea of a 'cottage'.

And the overcast weather ended with a lovely sunset.

I really like all the different textures in this photo.

This lovely piece of driftwood was against the embankment in the center of the photo above.

Having a great zoom on my camera allowed me to capture it so well.

These fishermen were standing on the little peninsula

jutting out from the land to the left of center in the top photo.

The two lumps of rock/driftwood can be seen in both shots.

This fella was the farthest out on the peninsula.

I love New Zealand shorelines

I never get tired of saying that I never get tired of being

at the ocean side.  Whatever the weather, it's beautiful to me.

When it has been stormy, it seems that the water puts on a show.

Foam is mostly algae that has been beaten by the waves and 

in the two shots below, after a storm, it was in abundance.

While we were in the South Island, I noticed the bales of hay laying in the fields. Just about all the farms had them  looking very meticulous in the way they were laid out which is in stark contrast to the bales in Taranaki being stacked along the side of the field.

Hubby asked around and found that it's so damp there that the farmers leave them where they will be used for the animals. The things I learn!

Some of the farms had baled the hay in purple wrapping that reminded me of the pink bales a couple of years back that were in support of breast cancer. The purple bales raise money for Starship Children's Hospital. You can read more here.

Hubby and I both love the 'panorama' setting on the camera. These are some he took.
