These flowers that we brought with us from the last house (all but the purple one) are a bit late blooming this year--could be the weather, could be the micro-climate we live in--but they are huge and heavy blossoms. With the other flowers winding down to seed, they are a very colorful surprise.

Love seeing them in the garden, for the vase they are a bit too big for me :)
And they are in front of a fence :))
Have a fine time

They're so lovely. I remember them in my mom's garden, she had more of purples.
I bought some dahlia tubers only yesterday - hope they do as well as these beauties.
Beautiful blooms.
I will need to wait dahlias, right now I'm waiting on the crocuses arrival. Tom The Backroads Traveller
Dahlias always signal autumn is coming....I am just waiting for the snow to finally melt here....taking so long now.
Dahlias are so important to me and I am pleased to see they grow in NZ. In fact, I've written several whole articles about them. They need to be treated carefully to last a long time in a vase, but make terrific late summer/early fall flowers! I think they are brilliant. Some good info in this site:
