Cold weather has driven me into my archives. This is a pohutukawa tree--called the New Zealand Christmas tree since it usually blooms about that time of year.
I was thinking about how different Christmas must be in the southern hemisphere, occurring in "summer". It's interesting to see how it is celebrated down under.

We are in the midst of beautiful crab apple blooms. It is a lovely time to be in Minnesota.
What a unique tree, and very beautiful too!
It seem so strange that we will be beginning our summer, and you will be beginning your winter. :-)
Beautiful macro!
Fascinating tree, reminds me of bursting fireworks.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
