snow on the mountaintops

Our intention of going in winter was to see snow on the mountains. 

Going up, we only saw snow on the far Kaimanawa Ranges, which was

a gorgeous sight.

But overnight the temperatures dropped and, on the way back south, the hills 

beyond the Waiouru Plains had a lovely white covering!
