Upper Mangaehu Road

After we accomplished finding the Bridge to Somewhere, we paid more attention to
the roadside on the way out.

There were many, many beehives next to the public road. Obviously, the owners wanted
to keep people off their land.

I'm not sure what the owners are doing on the land, but the wild goats seemed to be happy there.

But it seems they aren't all appreciated.

The piggies were too cute to shoot, except for with a camera.

This little piggie was wandering along the road.

The animals seem happy to live here. That is a beautiful cow photo. I enjoy seeing your photo series here. This land looks mostly absent of people and development.

On first glance I thought the beehives were portable potties. Ha!! Have never seen bee hive boxes. Interesting. The goats and piggies look like they are living the life ... until they aren't I guess.

Lovely place to explore, the land owners must have had unwanted visitors.

Apparently SOMEONE wants to be left alone and based on the signage I would say may have good reason...jp

This is a wonderful series. A photo says thousands of words. So, I enjoyed reading the post and looking at the pictures you have captured.

There were so many beehives! They must harvest delicious honey. The cow photo was my favorite --it looked very comfortable sitting in the grass.

My pick the hives were put there for clear flight access for the bees, and easy access for the apiarist as well as a deterrent!
Fabulous photos Betty
