nest raider

I saw this harrier hawk in the top of a tree in the yard! 
That's the closest to the house I've seen one, as it was probably
 raiding a bird's nest.

I think all the raptors are beautiful birds, but it is hard when one lands in your yard! (I used to kind of feel I was running a buffet for the kestrels that landed in our trees sometimes.) It's difficult to let nature take her course sometimes! (I never had such a large hawk as you have!)
