more backroad travels

When GPS says it will take over an hour to go 28km (about 17 miles), you know you are on the backroads!

The winding roads have white lines down the middle, but they are just reminders that traffic may be coming toward you as most are not wide enough for two cars.

The majority look like this, with an escaped sheep wandering about.

I'm not sure what these geese were waiting for, but they seemed to be up to something :)

The pathways around the pastures always make me wonder where they lead.

Just love this Betty! We love traveling on backroads and in Oregon especially there are a lot of logging roads carved out in the forests -- sometimes winding -- you have to hope nobody is coming at you because you can't see. (But people don't travel fast, someone will have to pull over or back up -- if by chance you do see somebody). So, yeah, we'd love this kind of travel through your country too. (Wish we could!!!)

Wow! That is a long drive. But, I would not mind in such a scenic place. I would prefer that than being in the freeway an hour to go to Downtown Los Angeles (which is 15 miles form the house).

I love such small, narrow roads and it almost looks like your roads are in England.
