sugarloaf islands at back beach

These islands surround an extince volcano. They got their name from the bird guano that made the islands look like the sugar drops Captain Cook put in his tea. Click here for more info on the islands.

Interesting info about the island! Love water spots - never get enough:) Now I'm wondering if the lava rocks on the coast close by also have to do with volcano activity in the ancient past.

Just looking at these photos slowed my heart rate and no doubt lowered my blood pressure. I'd be more than willing to visit in person to see what health benefits that might bring me!

I miss the ocean. We were going to go spend a couple of days by the sea last week, but our plans changed. Sometime soon, I hope. Love your pictures!

Tis beautiful! But if that story isn't enough to wean you off sugar, nothing is!

I have to say that I'm still thinking of a short trip to make (if the weather will be ok) and these images shows me that seeing the sea this year will be a great idea! Beautiful landscapes...
