I have to wonder why the sign is in two languages here.

I'm not sure what they are warning about, but there were deer in the enclosure when we were there!

You don't have to sleep with us to get a drink.

This one is close to the house and we have to do the Wizard of Oz flying monkeys 

chant when we see it.

waitotara valley road trip

We went looking for a wee church in Ngamatapouri along the Waitotara Valley Road,

the longest no-exit road in New Zealand. 

We never found the church, apparently turning around before we got there, 

but there was a lot to see. The scenery was very unique

 along the river--including wandering stock.

Pampas grass was everywhere! It's invasive here, but sure was pretty.

Hubby made this sign and put it up beside the road

so I could see it when I went shopping!
