Betty, you found some fine art work in your area. I liked the fence with the giant chess pieces, and the mural with the row boat and big wave. The other murals are good also, especially the one with the whale.
That whalebone sculpture looks familiar. About 20 years or so ago I drove around the North Island and went from Wellington and stopped over at Mt Taranaki so I'm pretty sure I passed through this place en route. I like the chess piece fence too
