State highway 43

I love the backroads of New Zealand. This is a state highway,
maintained by the New Zealand Transport Agency!

That next to last shot is a treat. All the bare hills are more from grazing I felt. The last looks unique with a touch of jungle to it.

Today I watched a documentary about New Zealand and its geology on my country's TV and I continue to say that your country is a unique and wonderful world.
Good weekend.

It's beautiful area -- love the green and the cattle in the front yard. And that the rocky road iw a state highway surprised me a lot! We would absolutely love driving that .... we look for back roads as often as we can; most are paved (well, I know you remember that) but at least they aren't the dopey freeway. Merry Christmas to both of you (in case I don't get back in the meantime).

Thanks so much for sharing so I could come visit. I'm loving that blue sky about now because we only have dreary days and rain the past couple weeks. Beautiful photos and scenery.
