sights of Whanganui

We went to Whanganui for a day out and to enjoy the sunshine.
As we drove around, we found some interesting things that I want to share.

This is an old Fire Brigade Sub  Station, 1925.

I have no idea what these letters on the top of a deserted industrial building mean.
Sally, I think you're right that it once said 'storage.'

Dragon's head, anyone?

Do those letters say 'storage' by any chance? They remind me of those awful anti-spam things everybody used to have where you had to type some meaningless phrase before you could leave a comment. I forgot what that was called, thank heavens nobody does it any more.

Anyway, love all your pictures, definitely all worth sharing -- the first one, the fence with the Maori (?) masks is fascinating.

Beautiful series of photos, and I especially love the "service not self" sign!

Beautiful photos. I think the letters are very mysterious, even if they did once say storage.

Awesome pictures. That dragon head coming out of the side of the building looks a bit scary. 😲 Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great weekend!

A great day out exploring with you. I really like the fence at the start and the corrugated iron sign is very creative isn't it! xx
