Sadly, this is what remains of the 'arch' in Waverley, even though the water is still beautiful.
It's sad to know that others will never see the beauty of this arch in its prime.I guess you just never know what will be tomorrow, so take lots of photos today!

Hi Betty, thanks for visiting my post, at least now i can often visit here. I am fascinated by landscapes of NZ, my sister is in Auckland, but i haven't been there. I love this arch and it is sad that it's now just a rock. We also have an arch like this in Batanes, northernmost part of the Philippines. I am sure in just a little while it will have the fate of yours in this photo.

What a shame! The arch was such a beautiful feature. It does remind of us the impermanence of things, and of the importance of preserving the memories.

So true -- weather and time take it's toll. I have some pictures of one of the beautiful arches in Canyonlands NP, which fell in shortly after we were there. And also we saw Old Man of the Mountain in New Hampshire, but only after it fell. (It was on the state quarter and everything. Kind of sad).
That is the way of nature. It is forever changing form but mostly we don't notice. Nice pics.
