I love birds of paradise! I had them growing in my garden in Ghana, West Africa and I loved making Japanese-style flower arrangements with them. Faking my way,of course, by imitating examples in books.
Do you have them growing in your garden in New Zealand? I thought they were seriously tropical flowers!
Just dropped by and stopped to have a look. New Zealand is on my list of places to visit. I did spend a couple of hours at the airport once in 1981 but they would not let us off the jet.
