Iona Church, Port Chalmers

This lovely church in Port Chalmers is undergoing earthquake-proofing and is only open for tours on days that cruise ships are in port. Sadly, we missed the tour by one day, but maybe we will get to see the inside some other time.

I've never been to Port Chalmers. I didn't know that there magnificent churches like this in New Zealand.

So sorry you could not tour the interior but maybe another time. The stained glass is amazing. I enjoyed all of the pictures.

Such beautiful details - especially love the stained glass! Wow, what an undertaking, to make it earthquake proof, but certainly worth it, because it is too costly to rebuild such a beauty!
Thank you for sharing this with ALL SEASONS, and have an enjoyable week:)

It really is beautiful. I hope the earthquake protection is finished soon; New Zealand seems to be shaking a lot lately.
