It boggles my minds when we come across fossils along the ocean. But when they are on the banks of a man-made lake, Lake Rotorangi. I have no idea what to think!
Those are excellent fossil specimens! I truly believe the earth was underwater during the great flood, just like the Bible says, about 4,000,000 years ago. When a major highway went across a mountain near us there were seashell fossils everywhere. Have a great week!

Fascinating! Maybe the sea once covered where the lake was built?

My, aren't they something. They are in such good shape that they look very real.

Fascinating to think how old those fossils must be. Perhaps tens of thousands of years old, long before humans were on earth.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even going to speculate how they might be there but they are a wonder! Thanks for visiting Cath@Home and leaving a comment...have a great day!
ReplyDeleteMind boggling it is for sure. Makes me realize what a small blip we humans are on the earth at this time in the huge history!
ReplyDeleteThere used to be a lot of rocks down home just absolutely covered in fossils...always loved looking at them.
ReplyDeleteThe universe is full of wonders. These are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI love finding fossils, not many up here though.
ReplyDeleteFossils always show a glimpse into the past, an age of the earth that we can not really imagine.
