kingfisher and WATW

I have to thank Hubby for this photo because he slowly slid--yes,
slid--out of his chair to get the camera so our movement
wouldn't scare him away!

  1. Nice shot! Your kingfishers are much pretty than ours. Ours are dark blue.

  3. He's posing perfectly for a portrait. My efforts of "sliding silently" would have probably scared him away - I'm not much good at that sort of thing.

Oh yes, I've done sliding before - not necessarily successfully, so well done hubby! YAM xx

  8. I have never been able to get a decent picture of a Kingfisher, even though we see them (our version of them) on both coasts and in between. They will sit perfectly still until I raise my camera (even if I’m using a zoom lens and not close) and the minute I do they are gone away! You and your husband are a great team! Thanks for hosting.

  9. Ohh, just a lovely photo and the idea of him sneaking out and tip-toeing away to get the camera like a cartoon character is hilarious. The background blur is perfect here.

  16. They are such flighty little fellows so good job on the stealthy movements. Such a cutie, I love seeing them, as rarely as that happens.
