Great photo. I saw quite a few Starlings on a visit to NZ a couple of years ago but found it march harder to find birds such as Tui and Bellbird.
Bet your Starling is happier than ours in the cold and wet. - Margy
Starlings, introduced from Europe, are a pest here. You bird is pretty in the cherry tree.

Handsome bird! Here they flock in the hundreds - yes, hundreds - in fall. It's like a great, black cloud passing over.
They do have pretty spots that wear off during the year...Michelle
