My Corner of the World

Taken in 2008, we found red kelp/seaweed on the sand at Waverley Beach. Never saw it again.

  6. Here in Florida, we get red tide too. But it's a bad thing. Since you're on the opposite side of the world, maybe its a good thing!

  8. It makes one wonder why so much seaweed should come ashore at one time. I saw it happen at Omokoroa once, with green sea lettuce, and the amount was phenomenal. The rock formation is very interesting in your photo. Thanks for hosting this link-up :)

  30. If I remember correctly, the red kelp is caused by a single cell algae but is not dangerous. I remember being in Newport, RI with my daughter and the beach and everyone was all excited about "the red tide" (red seaweed being washed ashore)...:)JP Happy Thanksgiving
