ReplyDeleteHallo Betty,
ReplyDeleteein sehr hübscher Besucher ist Dein Eisvogel.
Hier bei uns sehe ich ihn sehr selten.

I had never thought of kingfisher as unsociable, but you are right! Put a never come near our house.
ReplyDeleteyou are lucky to have a Kingfisher in your garden. A beautiful and interesting bird. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see this visitor to your garden.
ReplyDeleteMy visitors are usually chipmunks eating my tomatoes. I do have a thistle attracting finches though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful click
ReplyDeleteWow, I once photographed and saw a kingfisher and have never seen it since.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Eva
For us, the Kingfisher is called "Eisvogel."
ReplyDeleteI love and admire these rare birds very much!
What a cute visitor! Thank you for sharing the photo with us!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW and all the best!
Lucky! I've only seen them once so far here.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen a Kingfisher. And I thought they liked water. Did I just make that up or do you have a stream or something nearby?
ReplyDeleteI am green with photographers envy of your Kingfisher. I have the worst picture I’ve ever blogged in my post today, because I was so proud to finally get a picture of one (even a bad one). I do actually appreciate yours showing what a good one looks like! (Ours that I see aren’t as colorful and pretty as yours in the first place, but they are better than my picture shows.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bird!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very pretty bird. Let's hope you'll be friends, soon. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week, Betty.
And thank you for hosting.
we have kingfishers in Australia too. Such a splash of colour! Take care and enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteKingfishers are gorgeous birds - thanks for hosting xx

I would be delighted to have a Kingfisher visit my garden!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weds, Betty!
I used to like to see kingfisher but these days, I prefer them to keep their distance. I suspect they and other birds have been fishing off my fish pond. My guppies are dwindling in number.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI have seen it maybe twice in my life.
One handsome guy this! :)
ReplyDeleteYou must have water in your garden if your attacking these birds. I live near marshy areas, so I see them above the roads while driving. But I've never seen one in my garden.
ReplyDeleteThey're lovely looking birds, Betty!
ReplyDeletePS: Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteBirds are fascinating creatures. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
I would be jumping through hoops (at great personal risk) if a kingfisher visited my backyard!
ReplyDeleteOh wow a Kingfisher (we called him "Eisvogel") it's amazing. Here ist this bird so rare.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Germany
Kirsi

ReplyDeleteWonderful photo, they are shy birds aren't they.
ReplyDeleteI've seen them near rivers but they don't like posing, do they!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty and you are lucky to have it as a visitor. I have never seen one in person. :(
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day and thanks for hosting.
Lovely. It is the Sacred Kingfisher species. Apparently the holy bird for Polynesians, who believed the bird had control over the waves. I love these fun facts related to birds :)
ReplyDeleteYOU are so lucky to have such a visitor, Betty!! Here, I am happy to see butterflies and hummingbirds...:)jp

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful colors that bird has. So well suited. Nature is the greatest artist!
Have a great day, dear Betty!
