The McLaren Falls have their own beauty as small waterfalls forming at 1 cubic meter of water per second over the rocks. For 26 days a year, water is released from the dam above at 14 cubic meters per second for recreational purposes (read: rafting over the falls!). That would be stunning to see!
Hubby walked out on the rocks for more close-up photos.
I am fascinated by the round holes where small rocks were moved around by the water.
There seems to be very little water, does it ever give bigger body than that? But the views of the rocks are nice.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wonder how many years it took for the little rocks to make those potholes!
ReplyDeleteWonderful , Loved all pics.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous.... I love this kind of scenery. Walking out on the rocks for photos would be as much of an adventure I could handle (on a good day)...no going over the falls thank you! (Would be neat to watch though).
ReplyDeleteCan't beat a good waterfall
ReplyDeletebeautiful
ReplyDeleteJust imagine the thousands of years it took for the water to wear those holes in the rocks. Fascinating!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful post.

We have water worn rocks like this near us in British Columbia. The glacier during the ice age exposed lot of granite for the rivers to work on. - Margy
