St Mary's Catholic Church, Whanganui

We took a trip to Whanganui in south Taranaki to see a few specific sights.
One of them was St Mary's with a round sanctuary.

    A splendid modern re-interpretation of the traditional church elements. Round churches were traditionally built by returning Crusaders.

    Interesting building both inside and out. It has the same reaching for the sky effect as the old Gothic spires...this one could lift off!
