My world is messed up

I try to observe nature around me and was convinced that I could, to some degree, categorize flowers by the seasons they are in bloom. After a trip to the park in Hawera last weekend, I have officially given up. All these lovely plants were blooming like it's summertime when it's actually the middle of winter!

  1. It's been odd flowers blooming in Auckland as well. In some areas it is looking a bit like springtime here as well. Beautiful photos, especially the first one.

  17. "Tis "Global Weirding"....it's happening everywhere. We normally have mild and stunningly beautiful summers in the Pacific Northwest. Instead it is so hot, out plants are dying. I think we have to actually accept it.

  24. Well that is a pretty nice way to be messed up! Beautiful. I often forget what season it is since we spend the winter where it is warm. Sometimes I'll be daydreaming as I'm driving to the grocery store or something (say, in February) and I'm wearing cutoffs and a t-shirt -- and I see kids on the playground at school and think "I wonder why they're going to school in the summer?" And then I remember where I am and think 'duh, Florida!" ....

  25. Yes, it definitely looks like summer! You have the same flowers in bloom as we do in the UK! Enjoy your warm weather!
