return of the goldfinch

The gorgeous fellow thought the little yellow flowers were interesting, so he sat on the fence and pecked at them a while.



He flew in and out and chirped with this lady, so I assume she's Mrs. Goldfinch.

  1. hi great shots but Mrs goldfinch looks like Mr goldfinch so the last photo must be a young bird although I am not convinced it is a Goldfinch. Have a great weekend.

  12. A very English-looking Goldfinch, presumably the descendants of escapees. They used to be kept as cage-birds in the past so I would guess that's how they come to be so far from home.
