purple monk's hood

I had to take this shot from beneath, it seems this strange but gorgeous bloom is a bit shy and one must work to see its beauty.

If anyone knows the name of this flower that I had never seen before today, please identify it for me. Thanks to my sweet stepdaughter, I  know it's called monk's hood. Thanks, Missy!

  4. What a glorious colour these flowers are! I like the transparency of their petals too.

  5. Neat perpsective on blooms. so often we see them from above or at a low eye level. Nicely done.
