  2. A prison closing down seems a rare event. We just seem to have ever expanding prisons.

  3. The prison has a certain historic beauty … unless you are the one that is locked up. I hope it isn’t torn down and agree it is odd to see a prison close when there is always talk about more being needed.

  4. i like the facade of this building. the wooden door has character. but sleeping right beside a toilet bowl must be an eye-opener.:p

    i wonder why this prison was closed down--i hope it's because crimes are going down. here, prisons are over-crowded. i remember my visit to Alcatraz--i had goosebumps.
