Pohutukawa

Called the 'New Zealand Christmas Tree' the pohutukawas along the coastline bloom before those planted more inland. The weather has been miserable for over a week, with rain that we sorely need, but the colors are still stunning.

  3. Hi! I've hopped from Java’s Follow Friday hop. Your photographs are wonderful and I've been looking through all your other posts. As all I can see outside is white at the moment it is so lovely to see trees with colour and such beautiful flowers. New Zealand is on my bucket list as a must do trip in the next 2-3 years so maybe I'll get to see these for real. I have added myself as your newest follower/admirer.
Please drop by and maybe follow me if you fancy a laugh. I'd be delighted to welcome you.
    Merry Christmas

  9. How very beautiful! They resemble the bottle brushes we grow in SA, but appear a lot more compact and neater. They do look like the perfect Chyristmas tree!
