Te Rewa Rewa Bridge

This is the latest completed portion of a walkway that links the town of New Plymouth with the suburb of Bell Block. It is a whale skeleton or a wave, whichever you prefer. Click here for a map of the current walkway.




This is the view as you walk from Bell Block to New Plymouth. I'm glad they though ahead enough to have a wonderful view of Mt. Taranaki at the end of the bridge.

    What a pretty bridge! I do hope, someday, to get back to NZ...it's been so many years since my cruise but I'm already 65 so time ( and money ) are growing short!

    That must be a giant whale.
    Lovely imagination for the bridge. You can think of going inside the belly of the whale when you cross it.
    Are those two shags?

    That my dear is just beautiful! I'm going for the wave, but either way... What is really super cool is that it beautifully enables people to WALK! in an urban setting. We have a long ways to go here (in most of the USA) on that issue.....

    Been caught up in the garden and with grandkids, so have missed some of your posts. I loved the shells...so pretty, and this bridge. Wow what a subject for line, movement, and oh everything. I love it.!
